A Better Life?\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080; font-size: medium;\"><em>Don&#8217;t THINK about it&#8230; Don&#8217;t TALK about it&#8230; DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nA better, happier, more fulfilling life is within your grasp&#8230; <strong><em>But getting there means getting off the couch.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Doing more, doing better or doing something different!<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 Success and achievement requires <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>more than a great idea<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>It requires\u00a0action, consistent action.<\/em><\/span> Most of us have a thousand excuses that allow us to comfortably sit on the couch, in front of the computer, day after day, planning, thinking and\u00a0talking about all the great things we can and will\u00a0do &#8220;someday&#8221;.\u00a0 Every day we each are blessed with another 24 hours to use as we choose.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>From this day forward&#8230; Your future depends on the choices you make and the actions you take during those hours.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s not what you know&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s not what you think&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s not what you plan&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s not how great your potential is&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s not how brilliant you are&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>The only thing that really matters is what you actually do!&#8230;\u00a0<!--more--><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Many of us think, talk and dream about what we are going to accomplish &#8220;<em>someday<\/em>&#8220;.\u00a0 <strong>Unless we get off the couch and\u00a0get rid of our excuses for\u00a0procrastinating, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>someday will never come<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <em>Do two simple things right now&#8230;<\/em> <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>Get rid of excuses and GET MOVING!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>But Realize, Once you step out to act and achieve&#8230; Eventually you will fail,&#8230; Take Responsibility for it&#8230; and learn from it.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nOnce you take action, you put into play a domino like\u00a0cascade of re-actions and consequences.\u00a0 Some good, some not.\u00a0 When they go\u00a0well, take credit-\u00a0You Deseve\u00a0it&#8230;\u00a0 When they go badly- <em>Take responsiblity<\/em>, <em>you deserve that, too<\/em>.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Take responsibility for everything<em>.\u00a0\u00a0 Because like\u00a0it or not, we are all where we are because of previous choices we&#8217;ve made in our lives.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080;\"> Is it time for us to make better choices?&#8230;<\/span><br \/>\nA<\/em><\/span>re you <em>not<\/em> where you should be because everyone let you down?\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Stop depending on them<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Choose new partners or rely more on yourself. The bottom line, is<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><strong> you can never control\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><strong>your destiny until you acknowledge that you are in control.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0 Blaming outside circumstances for your situation\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">is simply laying the groundwork for lifelong excuses for failure. \u00a0Excuses are the death knell of success in any endeavor.\u00a0\u00a0Get rid of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Realize, It&#8217;s a fact of life; no matter what you do, no matter how well you plan, no matter how well you execute&#8230; things will occasionally go wrong.\u00a0\u00a0They will&#8230; <em>and OFTEN!!!\u00a0\u00a0<\/em> <\/span><em style=\"color: #800000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><strong>Failure is inevitable and an integral part of success&#8211; It&#8217;s through failure that we learn.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000080;\">But\u00a0no failure or setback is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ever permanent<\/span>, unless you make it so by giving up.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Something went wrong!\u00a0 What to\u00a0do?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>DEAL with it.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/em>\u00a0 Unfortunately, life happens. I don&#8217;t know where it came from, but ever since I was about\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I had a saying that was always with me&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">&#8220;<strong><em>Life is not as it should be&#8230; It simply is as it is<\/em><\/strong>&#8220;. Once we understand that, it becomes a lot easier to <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>make\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">rational decisions based on reality.\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This is much better than <\/span><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Spending our lives making &#8220;excuses&#8221; based on &#8220;rationalizations&#8221; and &#8220;wishful thinking&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">It doesn&#8217;t matter how things <em>should<\/em> be, it doesn&#8217;t matter how we <em>wish<\/em> they were&#8230;<strong><em> it ONLY MATTERS <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">how they are!<\/span><\/em> <\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Make sure you are making decisions based on what reality, <strong>IS<\/strong>&#8230; <strong>not<\/strong> on what you <strong>wish<\/strong> it was. \u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Doing anything else is a recipe for failure.\u00a0 Acknowledging reality may not always be pretty, but it always makes for better results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>ACKNOWLEDGE REALITY AND DEAL WITH IT<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nFrom this day forward, take responsibility for who you are and the choices you make. It doesn\u2019t matter where you were\u00a0born, that you were a battered child or came from a broken home, or dropped out of high school, etc\u2026\u00a0 These are all\u00a0unfortunate,\u00a0often even tragic.\u00a0 They unquestionably present challenges that must to be overcome&#8230; <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>and we can&#8230; we must!\u00a0 If not\u00a0for ourselves, for our families.\u00a0<\/em><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0Even if you can\u00a0honestly say, \u201c<em>but look at my childhood, it\u2019s all I ever knew\u2026<\/em>\u201d, \u00a0<em><strong>It doesn&#8217;t matter&#8230; It&#8217;s up to you now<\/strong>.<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0By providing excuses for\u00a0bad choices in the past, we are also acknowledging\u00a0<em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">the existence of better choices<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">for the future<\/span><\/em>. <strong><em>\u00a0Isn&#8217;t it time that we start making them<span style=\"color: #000080;\">?&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>JUST DO IT!\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"> No matter what happened in the past, from this moment forward, it&#8217;s up to you to choose your own destiny. Get rid of the excuses and start making better choices and decisions.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000080;\">Do this and you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>will<\/strong> <\/span>start getting better results.\u00a0 It&#8217;s as easy as 2 plus 2&#8230; <strong><em>Better Choice equal Better Results!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>NOT SMART ENOUGH???\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DON&#8217;T BELIEVE IT FOR A SECOND!!!<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;\"><em>A focused, hard working <strong>average intellect<\/strong> <strong>will beat a lazy genius <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">EVERY TIME<\/span>.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Success is not dependent on Intelligence&#8211; Now, don\u2019t get me wrong, if you have an IQ of 80 you will not become a world-renowned cardiovascular surgeon. But there are few excuses that are used so often, but are of so little consequence as<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> \u201cI\u2019m just not smart enough\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">If you are smart enough to read and understand this page, you are smart enough to accomplish your objectives!\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span><strong style=\"color: #000080; font-size: small; text-decoration: underline;\"><em>NO EXCUSES!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Intelligence is <em>profoundly<\/em> overrated.<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>WHAT YOU <em>DO<\/em><\/strong><\/span> is infinitely more important than\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>WHAT YOU KNOW<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span>. Your<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">willingness to learn what you <em>need<\/em> to do AND THEN ACTUALLY DOING IT is incomparably more important <span style=\"color: #800000;\">than the <em><strong>ability<\/strong><\/em> to learn all<br \/>\nthose things that <em>most people are<strong> too lazy to do<\/strong> anyway<\/em>!<\/span>\u00a0<strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The person that is actually doing something&#8230; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">actually climbing the ladder<\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\">, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>will ALWAYS rise higher than the person sitting on the couch.<\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">This is true regardless of any\u00a0perceived or even actual\u00a0difference in innate potential&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><em>Success IS NOT about knowledge or intellect. It&#8217;s ALWAYS about Action.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">In this incredible society, great success can be accomplished with very AVERAGE intellect. What is required, however, is <em>an\u00a0above average work ethic<\/em> and <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>willingness to act<\/em><\/span><\/strong>. One of my favorite sayings it&#8230;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\">&#8220;GREAT IDEAS ARE USELESS&#8230; UNLESS COMBINED WITH POSITIVE ACTION&#8221;.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>DID SOMEONE STEAL&#8221;YOUR&#8221; IDEA?<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThink about it&#8230; in your lifetime, how many great ideas have you, or someone you know, come up with and then even told your friends about? \u00a0But you thought of it <em>over a beer<\/em>; didn&#8217;t act, didn&#8217;t write it down&#8230; just went back to\u00a0watching the game.\u00a0 Then later saw someone on Oprah making their fortune\u00a0with &#8220;<em><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>your<\/strong><\/span><\/em>&#8221; idea?\u00a0 This scenario plays out all the time, over and over.<\/p>\n<p>Have you missed out on something great, because you didn&#8217;t act? \u00a0Most of us have. <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong>It&#8217;s never the idea that is of paramount importance&#8230; It&#8217;s the action that matters!<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">ACTION<\/strong><\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">!<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 ASN was <em>unquestionably<\/em> a GREAT IDEA.\u00a0\u00a0I\u00a0believe it&#8217;s a\u00a0GREAT Company. <\/span><strong style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>But what would it have been without action?&#8230;\u00a0 <\/em><\/span><\/strong>Just another idea that went<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em> no where<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The light bulb was a<em> pretty good idea<\/em>. But where would it, <em>and<\/em> Edison be if the idea wasn&#8217;t combined with about 10,000<br \/>\nexperiments <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>THAT FAILED?<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 We&#8217;d still be in the dark!\u00a0 At least, until someone else with a propensity to <strong>ACT<\/strong> got off the couch and went to work. <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>Believe it or not,\u00a0the ideas don&#8217;t have to be brilliant.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Ever heard of the pet rock?!<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">It was a stone that was placed in a box and then sold as a &#8220;pet&#8221;.\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">An absurdly\u00a0stupid idea that was acted upon.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>It made a fortune!<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">If you always <em>do<\/em> what you&#8217;ve always <em>done<\/em>, you&#8217;ll always <em>get<\/em> what you always <em>got<\/em>.<\/span>\u00a0 For our lives to improve and\u00a0change, our <em>actions<\/em> must change.<br \/>\nWant to make a change? Want more out of life? There is no question, it will require new choices and new <strong>ACTIONS<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>DON&#8217;T FEAR FAILURE&#8230; EMBRACE IT.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Don&#8217;t be afraid to fail!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">A Major Key <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">to Success? <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">FAIL OFTEN!<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0If you Act, You will occasionally fail. You might even fail <em>a lot<\/em>. Edison literally &#8220;failed&#8221; over 10,000 times in the creation\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">of the light bulb. <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">But he had the right attitude.<\/span><\/em> When he was asked about his incredible number of failures, he said,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">&#8220;<\/span><em style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">I have not failed 10,000 times. I&#8217;ve successfully found 10,000 ways that it won&#8217;t work!<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-size: small;\">&#8221;\u00a0 He learned from each failure, then did it again, <em>only better.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">If you never fail<strong><em>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\">you\u2019re not trying hard enough<\/span>\u2026<\/em><\/strong> Much like learning to walk, <strong><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">success comes from pushing yourself to your limits, failing, falling, learning, getting better and then going beyond what was previously possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong> First we lay, we roll, we crawl, we walk, we run&#8230; If we wish to accomplish anything, it&#8217;s an inevitable, unavoidable\u00a0process.\u00a0 We participate, or we don&#8217;t.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a choice.\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s our choice, but choices always have consequences.\u00a0\u00a0 We choose to rise&#8230; or we choose to stagnate.\u00a0 As I used to admonish my sales force on an almost daily basis&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">&#8220;<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>If you are not putting yourself in a position to fail&#8230; you are not putting yourself in a position to succeed&#8221;<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<em style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Success and failure are flip sides of the same coin. If you work too hard to avoid failure, you will not experience success.<\/em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0 <\/span><em style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Do Not Fear Failure<\/strong><\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">. It&#8217;s more that an aphorism when I say that <\/span><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>every time you fail brings you one step closer to success.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>But you have to take that step!<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 <\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>Want to succeed??\u00a0 Fail and fail often.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>HOW DO YOU REACT?<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>Reacting the Right Way<\/strong> is even more important <strong>than doing the right thing.<\/strong> <\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\">No matter what you do, and no matter <em>how well<\/em> you do it&#8230; occasionally, things will go wrong.<\/span> A deal will fall apart. The sale won\u2019t be made. The race will be lost. You\u2019ll forget your lines. Even if you do everything right, something will occasionally go wrong! \u00a0That&#8217;s life, get used to it. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>When\u00a0it happens, how you react will be infinitely more important than the fact that you did everything right and failed anyway.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>After having done everything right but still experienced a failure, <em><strong>many people simply\u00a0fold<\/strong><\/em>. They get out of the business.\u00a0 They find fault with everything without realizing, setbacks are just\u00a0part of the game.\u00a0 They quit.\u00a0 They stop trying.\u00a0 They don&#8217;t realize that failure is simply a part of the natural order of things.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>It is an unavoidable, absolutely essential part of the success process.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Even Babe Ruth, struck out.\u00a0 Joe Montana\u00a0threw interceptions.\u00a0 You will <strong><em>never<\/em> <\/strong>hit a home run if you are afraid to swing the\u00a0bat.\u00a0\u00a0You will never throw a touchdown if you always punt!\u00a0\u00a0 <strong><em>In our life, how many touch downs have you <span style=\"color: #800000;\">NOT\u00a0thrown<\/span> because you chose to punt?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 How many of us never hit that home run, not because we couldn&#8217;t, <em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">but because we didn&#8217;t even swing?<\/span><\/em>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>We were afraid to fail.<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 We were too afraid of being embarrassed.\u00a0\u00a0What would people think if we swung and missed?\u00a0\u00a0 Guess what.\u00a0 If you try, <em><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>you are going to miss sometimes!<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 You are!&#8230; I&#8217;ve missed&#8230; and more than likely, I will again!<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0 But, isn&#8217;t it better to try and <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>temporarily fail\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span>than to\u00a0never try and <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>never succeed at all?<\/em><\/strong> <\/span>\u00a0<em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0If you want to succeed in anything, <strong>you must be willing to try and fail.<\/strong><\/em> You must realize and accept, that you <em>WILL occasionally\u00a0<\/em>fail.\u00a0 Failure is nothing to be afraid of.\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva;\">Embrace it. \u00a0Learn from it&#8230; then swing again!.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The last thing that I want say\u00a0is that you can do this. You can succeed.\u00a0 You can do it.\u00a0 But you have to be willing to try and fail.
