{"id":30435,"date":"2016-10-16T14:25:06","date_gmt":"2016-10-16T21:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/?p=30435"},"modified":"2018-12-14T12:42:10","modified_gmt":"2018-12-14T20:42:10","slug":"liberal-policies-caused-the-financial-meltdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/liberal-policies-caused-the-financial-meltdown\/","title":{"rendered":"WHAT REALLY CAUSED THE FINANCIAL MELTDOWN?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">Over and over, even to this day, Obama and democrats use the bumper sticker slogan,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201dThe Republicans put the car in the ditch and now they want the keys back!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">Is that true? \u00a0Was it really the republicans??\u00a0 Or did they have help?<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">There is no question that the government was deeply involved in what happened, but was it really conservative policies that caused it and does it even matter? \u00a0YES, it matters!\u00a0 Once set of economic policies brings as much stability as any system can have&#8230; another always ends in chaos. \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>A quick overview and history of the Financial Meltdown encapsulates the fundamental problems inherent in liberal philosophy.<\/em><\/strong><\/span> \u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Even the FDIC acknowledges that it was policies <em><strong>forced<\/strong> <\/em>upon the financial system that was the major cause<\/span>.\u00a0But what really happened and who was behind those policies?&#8230;<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">Government involvement and liberal policies and regulation played an enormous part in our economic collapse. Specifically, the Community Reinvestment Act, overseen by Clinton in 1995. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdic.gov\/regulations\/compliance\/manual\/pdf\/IV-1.1.pdf\">https:\/\/www.fdic.gov\/regulations\/compliance\/manual\/pdf\/IV-1.1.pdf<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Like so many liberal policies, helping more to achieve the American Dream of home ownership was a <strong><em>noble goal<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0 But like so many liberal policies, it was not well thought out and will little contemplation\u00a0of the possible &#8220;unintended consequences&#8221;. \u00a0It was also intended to promote\u00a0the goal\u00a0of assuring elections and power through enaction of\u00a0policies that are\u00a0popular, but also unsustainable and damaging. \u00a0 <em>see also How liberal tactics destroy America<\/em> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p2EGlL-4TE\">\u00a0http:\/\/wp.me\/p2EGlL-4TE<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">This policy ultimately was instrumental in the financial collapse. The fact is, governmental regulations <\/span><\/span><strong style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\"><em>incentivized<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">, if not actually, <\/span><\/span><strong style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\"><em>required lenders<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> to <\/span><\/span><em style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">make loans that they NEVER have otherwise made. \u00a0<\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Make it easier\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">achieve<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0the American Dream of home ownership;<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> a<\/span><\/span><em style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0noble objective, of which, I agree.<\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> But as with so many things government does, it was not well thought out, badly implemented and the law of unintended consequences was never taken into account. \u00a0\u00a0Ill-advised loans were made every day that <\/span><\/span><em style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">would never have been made in a free market, absent <strong>government influence and pressure.<\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 This with with governmental guarantees against loss, (ultimately backed by our tax dollars), plus,\u00a0penalties for non-cooperation; all combined to create a situation in which for the lender &#8220;anything goes&#8221;. \u00a0If we close the loan we get paid, if we don&#8217;t close the loan, we can get fined. \u00a0<strong>Financial regulations were now tantamount to,\u00a0\u201cdo it our way, or else\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0 Consequently, any semblance of business principles were tossed out the window, with catastrophic results. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I\u2019m not being partisan here, the fact is that both liberal and conservative politicians gave broad<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">support to these policies.\u00a0 <strong>However, when disaster was on the horizon, one party tried to act\u2026 <em>and one party stood firm to continue on the road to disaster.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">SOME SAW IT COMING:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">2 years prior to the crash, it became obvious there was a looming problem on the horizon. Remember, at this time, democrats had control of the house and the senate. <strong><em>Consequently, conservatives could actually force nothing<\/em><\/strong>. Bush and conservatives began taking about the coming problem, trying to alert the public, even drafted legislation to try to stem the tide of the coming storm. It was brought to a vote on the house. The fact is the democrats blocked it. It was a straight party line vote. <strong><em>All republicans voted to do something\u2026 Every democrat voted no; to do nothing!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">Not only did democrats bury their heads in the sand, they went to the normal liberal political playbook\u2026 they labeled republican attempts to avert disaster as being motivated by a general unresponsiveness to the needs of the poor and pure and simple racism! \u00a0So what\u2019s new? \u00a0That&#8217;s the liberal way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/rules-for-radicals-saul-alinsky\">The liberal playbook..<\/a>.<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 .<\/span><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\"> BIG GOVERNMENT= BIG PROBLEMS<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/is-government-the-answer\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> http:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/is-government-the-answer<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/wp.me\/p2EGlL-7UT<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over and over, even to this day, Obama and democrats use the bumper sticker slogan,\u00a0\u201dThe Republicans put the car in the ditch and now they want the keys back!\u201d Is that true? \u00a0Was it really the republicans??\u00a0 Or did they have help?
