{"id":465,"date":"2012-07-25T11:25:27","date_gmt":"2012-07-25T18:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/?p=465"},"modified":"2012-07-25T15:06:23","modified_gmt":"2012-07-25T22:06:23","slug":"the-reality-of-taxation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/the-reality-of-taxation\/","title":{"rendered":"The Reality of Taxation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"id_501035f5310aa2246611934\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">THE REALITY OF TAXATION.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div>In this or any other heated political season,\u00a0&#8220;Make them pay\u00a0their fair share!&#8221; becomes a deafening roar&#8230; The throng is growing louder and louder&#8230;\u00a0but the premise lying at i&#8217;s core is a fallacy.\u00a0 It has nothing to do with sound governmental policy, it is class warfare that preys on misinformation and misunderstanding.\u00a0\u00a0Plain and simple.\u00a0 I believe one major key to getting past the ill-conceived rhetoric and misplaced venom, is understanding.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>First, we must all\u00a0understand that <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>No One believes<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>that the rich <em>should not<\/em> pay a higher tax rate than the poor or middle class.\u00a0<strong><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\"> THEY SHOULD!<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<div>The <em><strong>real<\/strong> <\/em>issue,\u00a0is <strong>NOT<\/strong> should the &#8220;rich&#8221; pay more or be taxed at a higher rate&#8230; <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em>The issue is CAN and SHOULD they really be taxed more?<!--more--><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>An intelliegent opinion requires a minmal understanding of current tax policy and the actual repercussions of the proposed\u00a0change in policy.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div>If one feels their taxes should go up&#8230;<em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u00a0the question becomes,<\/span> why?\u00a0<\/em> To what purpose?\u00a0\u00a0What societal benefit is to\u00a0be serviced?\u00a0 Is it\u00a0to punish them for having more?\u00a0 I would hope not.\u00a0Do we\u00a0believe it will actually help the country?<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>If the goal is punishment, that constitutes little more than theft and obviously not a reasonble position.<\/div>\n<div>If it&#8217;s because it will\u00a0help the country climb out of the black\u00a0hole of debt our politicians have created,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>I would be 100%\u00a0on board with that decision&#8230;<\/em> <\/span><strong><em><span style=\"color: #000080;\">BUT IT WON&#8217;T!\u00a0 Simple math proves this.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Hear are a few little known FACTS.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. The top <span style=\"color: #800000;\">5%<\/span> of earners already pay over <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>50%<\/em><\/strong><\/span> of <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>all<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>federal taxes.\u00a0 Most that yell &#8220;fair share&#8221; are not aware of this or\u00a0fact 2 or 3.<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. The top <span style=\"color: #800000;\">20%<\/span> of earners pay almost<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong> 70%<\/strong><\/em><\/span> of <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>all<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>federal taxes.<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. The <em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">BOTTOM 43%<\/span><\/em> <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>pay ZERO taxes<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>and the<em><span style=\"color: #800000;\"> bottom 50%<\/span> pay\u00a0<strong>almost<\/strong><\/em> <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>ZERO<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>federal taxes.<\/div>\n<div>Based on the <em>facts<\/em>&#8230; If one is truly concerned about the rich paying their &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>fair share<\/em><\/span>&#8220;, I don&#8217;t think a tax INCREASE would be\u00a0the conclusion or policy of most.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>It would be hard to make argument that they don&#8217;t already do so.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>TAXING THE RICH MORE\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>IS NOT<\/em> <\/span>THE SOLUTION&#8230; <em>CONTROLLING SPENDING IS.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Even if we took it <strong>ALL<\/strong>&#8230; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>everything!&#8230; \u00a0<\/strong><\/span>It just wouldn&#8217;t wouldn&#8217;t help!\u00a0 <\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>The solution is not higher taxes&#8230; it&#8217;s lower spending<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 It&#8217;s called math. SPENDING vs TAXES are so out of balance that If&#8230;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The government imposed a <strong><em>100%<\/em><\/strong> tax on people making over $250K<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><em>AND<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>confiscated <em><strong>ALL last year\u2019s profits<\/strong> <\/em>of ALL Fortune 500 companies<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>AND<\/em> <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">TOOK<\/span> ALL<\/em> <em>assets<\/em> <\/strong>of the top 400 billionaires\u2026<\/span><\/div>\n<div>This massive confiscatory taxing policy\u00a0would still only fund our government for 8 months!<\/div>\n<div>And <em>then<\/em> who would they tax?\u00a0 Who&#8217;s left?\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>TAXES ARE NOT THE SOLUTION!<\/strong><\/em> <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>SEE <a href=\"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/economics-how-much-do-you-owe-uncle-sam\/#more-82\" rel=\"nofollow nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/economics-how-much-do-you-owe-uncle-sam\/#more-82<\/a> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>The fact is that NO amount of tax increases on the &#8220;rich&#8221; can solve or even improve our nations deficit.<\/em>\u00a0<strong><em> IT IS MATHEMATICAL IMPOSSIBILITY<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span> The only REALISTIC option we have is to get spending under control.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><em>PERIOD<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; font-size: medium;\"><em><strong>Our politicians may be corrupt&#8230; but they are not stupid.\u00a0 Any politician that denies this simple fact, is simply lying and engaging in class warfare as a path to re-election and power.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/forum\/the-economy-and-you-group5\/tax-the-rich-forum1\/the-reality-of-taxation-thread15\">Join the Forum discussion on this post<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE REALITY OF TAXATION.
