{"id":545,"date":"2012-09-10T12:16:12","date_gmt":"2012-09-10T19:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/?p=545"},"modified":"2012-10-15T21:45:17","modified_gmt":"2012-10-16T04:45:17","slug":"lies-and-half-truths-the-engine-doesnt-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/lies-and-half-truths-the-engine-doesnt-run\/","title":{"rendered":"Lies and Half Truths- The engine doesn&#8217;t run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Obama, the Car Salesman?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Have you ever bought a car?&#8230; and actually liked the salesman?\u00a0 Maybe even almost fell in love with him?\u00a0 He was kind, funny, sincere, mesmerizing; you just knew; you could <strong><em>tell<\/em><\/strong> he was different.\u00a0 You even thought about introducing him to your sister? \u00a0There was just something about him\u2026 \u00a0<em>he would not lie to you.\u00a0 Even if all the others did\u2026<\/em> you just knew you could trust this man!\u00a0 You gladly bought what he was selling and went on your way confident, even excited knowing your travels were going to me smoother, safer, more reliable, more comfortable.\u00a0 The future looked so bright! \u00a0\u00a0<em><strong>Then the engine blew up.<!--more--><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a title=\"Obama's lies, half truths and broken promises\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p2EGlL-8O\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Click Here for A partial list of Obama&#8217;s list of lies, half truths and broken promises.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #800000;\"><strong>We were sold a bill of goods; a defective product.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t it time to invoke the lemon law and get a new car?<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Obama is the salesman that sold us that crappy car that will NEVER live up to the hype\u2026 and the Democratic Party is his dealership.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 The only thing they sell is a enormous, bloated, job killing, over bearing, stifling, controlling government.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>They advertise and market their products as compassion and fairness; things that we all want.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span> But just as with a beautiful car, you always have to look under the hood.\u00a0 What they are selling sounds is what we all want.\u00a0 Even I want it\u2026 everyone does. It looks and sounds so beautiful\u2026 even inspiring, but when we look under the hood; an open aware mind sees an engine that works nothing like what we are told.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>I want what they are selling to work.\u00a0 I want to eliminate poverty, hunger; I want to feed and educate all children<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 I want a country and yes, a world of peace, happiness and prosperity.\u00a0 And I believe, that as the most powerful country in the world we should do everything possible to achieve these objectives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But none of this can be accomplished unless we institute policies that can actually get the job done.\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"> I don\u2019t care how inspiring the sales job is\u2026 a bad engine is a bad engine.\u00a0 A bad policy is a bad policy. \u00a0Lies and misdirection are simply deceit.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">His words are almost always perfection; a constant stream of inspiring rhetoric.\u00a0 But we all know this\u2026 <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>it\u2019s what you do\u2026 not what you say that matters.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 He gives a GREAT speech, is a great salesman, but like the car salesman above\u2026 it\u2019s smoke and mirrors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">A direct quote from a speech given on about 9-10-12.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> \u201cThe path we have chosen may be harder but it will lead to a better place.\u00a0 I\u2019m asking you to choose that future.\u00a0 I\u2019m asking you to rally around some goals; concrete achievable goals in manufacturing, in energy, in education, in cutting the deficit that will lead to more jobs and opportunity and it will rebuild our economy on a stronger foundation.\u00a0 That\u2019s what the next 4 years are about.\u00a0 That\u2019s why I\u2019m running for president.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\"><strong>Isn&#8217;t<\/strong><\/span><strong style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0this what he said he was going to be doing the first four years?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Let\u2019s quickly dissect it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cThe path we have chosen may be harder but it will lead to a better place.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Isn\u2019t this exactly what the car salesman does?\u00a0 It\u2019s perfectly analogous to \u201cthe payments may be a bit higher,<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> but you\u2019re going to have such a nice ride\u201d.<\/span><\/em> We all know that the <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>the hard path is <strong>doing<\/strong> what MUST BE DONE! \u00a0Not just <strong>talking<\/strong> about what we <strong>want<\/strong> to accomplish.<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 <strong>Spending must be cut.<\/strong>\u00a0 There is no option.\u00a0<strong><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> <a title=\"Taxes what is a fair share?\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p2EGlL-2V\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">See Tax the Rich?<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080; font-size: small;\"><strong>Let\u2019s look at his stated goals.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Manufacturing<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 as part of his class warfare argument, he rails against the greedy corporations that move jobs overseas.\u00a0 The fact of the matter is that is substantially a direct result of his tax policy.\u00a0 <em><strong>The United States has the highest corporate tax rate in the world.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Energy<\/strong><\/span>&#8211; Does Solyndra, Evergreen sound familiar?\u00a0 With these and other \u201cgreen companies\u201d, we, the tax payers, lost hundreds of millions of dollars because he decided to pick and choose which industry and which companies would win in the game of government handouts.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>The money co-incincidentally seems to go companies that have close ties to his administration or from companies that made HUGE contributions to his campaign.\u00a0<\/em><\/span> I\u2019m sure that\u2019s just a coincidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We should not just be mad as hell about the loss of OUR money, but this should be a stark lesson in the inefficiency and incompetency of our government.\u00a0 The main reason these companies went under?\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>They could not compete with the Chinese competition!<\/em><\/span><em>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Shouldn\u2019t the people who are throwing away our tax dollars have known that?<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>Actually, there is overwhelming evidence that they did, but handed our cash out to these contributors and well connected companies, nevertheless.<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Why couldn\u2019t they compete?\u00a0 It\u2019s not just \u201clower wages\u201d as the administration likes to tout\u2026 as noted above, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">we tax our corporations more than any company in the world.\u00a0 Additionally, our regulatory system is almost impossible to traverse.\u00a0 <strong><em>Our own governmental tax structure and policies make it impossible to compete.\u00a0 Our government is costing our people jobs.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Lie<\/strong>&#8211; Speaking of energy\u2014what about oil.\u00a0 He states that under his administration drilling and production has never been higher.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <strong>Fact<\/strong>&#8211; Virtually, every time he had the opportunity to stop drilling in the US offshore, he killed it.\u00a0 Virtually, every drop of production is the direct result of Bush policies opening up markets and fields.\u00a0 The only reason they weren\u2019t shut down is that it was not politically expedient to do so.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Education<\/strong>&#8211; His solution to education is what it is for all democrats\u2026 <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>give the teacher unions more money.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 We all know it doesn\u2019t work.\u00a0 In spite of raise after raise, our children are still being failed by this system.\u00a0 How can he not realize what everyone with a brain understands.\u00a0 The key to better education is to have better educators.\u00a0 You don\u2019t accomplish that by giving an across the board pay increase to effective <em>and<\/em> ineffective teachers.\u00a0 Good teachers must be rewarded and bad teachers must be either helped to improve\u2026 or fired.\u00a0 It may be harsh, but it\u2019s also true.\u00a0 Don\u2019t our children deserve that?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Cutting the Deficit?<\/strong>&#8211;<\/span> This is actually laughable.\u00a0 In spite of the inspirational words, he has proven to have no interest in deficit reduction. \u00a0The one budget that he actually proposed was so insane that it received not even 1 vote\u2026 from anyone!\u00a0 Not even his tax and spend democrats would touch it with a 10 foot pole.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lie- Obama has had the lowest rate of increase in spending since World War II.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Truth- He speaks of lowering the budget but the facts are that, in spite of the actual gargantuan budgets that he signed, <strong><em>in every case he had actually had asked for more!\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> As to the \u201cslow\u201d rate of growth, although technically accurate, it is again, smoke.\u00a0 <em>When stated as a percentage of growth from one year to the next, to the degree it\u2019s <span style=\"color: #800000;\">almost<\/span> true,<\/em> it\u2019s not because of any restraint, but rather because he actually made the historically high budgets created by the \u201cstimulus\u201d package the new \u201cbaseline\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> If last year\u2019s budget was $1,000 and this year I spent $1.500, I increased the budget 50% but actually only spent an additional $500 dollars.\u00a0 Probably not anything that will bankrupt me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">However, if last year the budget was <strong>1 <em>Trillion Dollars<\/em><\/strong> and this year I spent 1.3 Trillion Dollars, I actually <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>lowered<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>the <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>rate<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>of growth\u2026 hooray!\u00a0 But I just spent an additional <strong><em>THREE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS!<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 This is the kind of numbers game (half truths) that Obama is playing.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> For those that want to wade through the data see\u2026 <a href=\"http:\/\/hotair.com\/archives\/2012\/05\/25\/wapo-three-pinocchios-to-wh-over-their-defense-of-obama-spending\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">http:\/\/hotair.com\/archives\/2012\/05\/25\/wapo-three-pinocchios-to-wh-over-their-defense-of-obama-spending\/<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>How does an economist trying to determine what the numbers really mean, see it?<\/em><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 They look to the percentage of increase in government spending to Gross Domestic Product (GDP).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> In FY2008, federal spending equaled 20.8% of GDP.\u00a0 In FY2009, it jumped to 25.4% \u2014 <strong>an increase of 22%<\/strong> in the rate of spending.\u00a0 In the post-war era, federal spending as a percentage of the U.S. economy has hovered around 20 percent, give or take a couple of percentage points. Under Obama, it has hit highs not seen since the end of World War II \u2014 completely the opposite of the point asserted by the administration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Obama can spin the numbers any way he wants but in what world can any rational human being oversee and <em>sign into law the most staggering deficits in the history of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">world<\/span><\/em>, <em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">borrow forty cents of every dollar spent<\/span><\/em>, while at the same time <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>bragging that he has slowed the rate of government spending????<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; font-size: medium;\"><strong>We need to understand; this country\u2019s problems cannot be solved by good speeches.\u00a0 It requires good effective policies.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Class Warfare is not a good Policy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Making grandiose promises to get and keep power\u2026 is not good policy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pretending the government can solve all problems is not good policy.\u00a0 Government has limits, but even more importantly is this tidbit of fundamental truth that is always lost in the shuffle\u2026 <strong><em><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cthe government can never give anything to anyone, without having taken it from some else first\u201d.<\/span><\/em><\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0The government plays a never ending game of Robin Hood.\u00a0 Take from the \u201crich\u201d to give to the poor.\u00a0 But there are limits to what can be taken.\u00a0 <a title=\"Tax the Rich?\" href=\"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/tax-the-rich\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>See \u201cTax the Rich\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Anti business <em>is not<\/em> good policy.<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 To have a job you need an employer who has a business.\u00a0 When government controls and regulations make hiring more expensive, <em><strong>businesses don\u2019t hire. \u00a0What could be simpler?<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 See <a title=\"is government the answer?\" href=\"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/is-government-the-answer\/\" target=\"_blank\">How Government Destroys So Much!<\/a><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>When businesses are taxed more they have<strong><em> less capital<\/em><\/strong> so hire fewer employees.<\/li>\n<li>A simple fact- Other than IRS agents (we need more, right?), raising taxes has and never will create even one job. \u00a0Even Obama agreed with that, when it was beneficial for him to say so! \u00a0Remember him saying you can&#8217;t raise taxes during a recession? \u00a0Economic growth is even slower now than it was then. \u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Did the laws of economics change? \u00a0Or is is simply that he now finds that the class warfare argument will get him votes?<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Raising taxes NEVER creates jobs, however, raising taxes has <strong><em>proven<\/em> <\/strong>to cost millions of jobs. \u00a0But anything to get re-elected, right? <span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0It&#8217;s not about truth, it&#8217;s not about policy&#8230;<strong><em> it&#8217;s about power.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>An economy founded on private sector jobs is more prosperous than one that considers welfare and unemployment as \u201cstimulus\u201d.\u00a0 (and yes the democratic \u201cdealership\u201d has actually called welfare and unemployment stimulus). \u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'arial black', 'avant garde'; color: #ff0000;\">A SIMPLE QUESTION&#8211;<\/span> \u00a0 If more government jobs, unemployment and welfare stimulates the economy, why don\u2019t we just put everyone on welfare\u2026 or give everyone a <em>government<\/em> job&#8230; <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>\u00a0<em>then we\u2019d have 100% employment and the most prosperous economy in the world, right?<\/em><\/strong><\/span> \u00a0That&#8217;s basically what the Soviet Union did. \u00a0How&#8217;d that work out? \u00a0That&#8217;s basically what Greece and Spain tried to do&#8230; \u00a0you can see what&#8217;s happening with them right now! \u00a0 A strong prosperous society comes from a strong and free, unshackled private sector&#8230; not from a bloated, overbearing, job strangling government! \u00a0 History proves this time and time again! \u00a0see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/is-government-the-answer\/\">http:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/is-government-the-answer\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Lying or misrepresenting truth is never good policy\u2026 They hide the most fundamental precept of government and how it affects society.\u00a0 \u201cthe government can never give anything, without having taken it from some else first\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'arial black', 'avant garde'; color: #800000;\">BIG GOVERNMENT<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">No matter how well it\u2019s sold, no matter how great it sounds, when we get it on the road, the engine always blows up!\u00a0\u00a0 There is something fundamentally flawed in the manufacturing process.\u00a0 Whether they know it or not; <strong><em>whether by intent or ignorance, they are promoting policies that simply can\u2019t work.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> The math simply does not add up.\u00a0 The policies and solutions they put forth have never in the history of mankind created long term success.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I DON&#8217;T HATE OBAMA- I think he probably believes in the fundamentals of what he is trying to do. \u00a0When you look at who he was raised by, the Marxist professors that (by his own admission he sought out), the people that he has surrounded himself with (see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/the-company-we-keep-friends-and-appointments-of-obama\/\">http:\/\/allsolutionsnetwork.org\/blog\/the-company-we-keep-friends-and-appointments-of-obama\/<\/a>\u00a0is it any wonder that he seems to believe what he does?
